Blogging for Business

One of the first steps of starting an online business is to make your online presence known. One of the best ways is to get your own website. Though this is one of the best ways, it is often much harder than it sounds because of the steps necessary to get the site online. Some of these steps include but are not limited to: purchasing a domain name and a hosting package, writing or paying someone to write the codes, and using a FTP to get the site on-line. This can be very costly and time consuming.

An alternative to all of those steps is setting up a blog. Using a blog is cheaper and less time consuming. There are also many options you can choose from. You can get a free blog from wordpress or blogger or you can use a paid service. You can even use your own hosting service to host your blog. Your blog can be set up in as little as 10 minutes

Once you have your blog set up, it is time to make your first post. The question of what to post often comes up. Start with YOU. Introduce your self and let your readers know who you are and what you are about. Then pick a niche (subject) and write about it. Establish yourself as an expert. Once your post is made, bookmark your blog using a social bookmarking site like digg or only-wire.

After making your first post, the blogging process is much easier. Just make it a point to post to your blog a minimum of twice per week. Make sure you bookmark each post after making them. This will ensure your blog gets indexed immediately. This also helps with search engine optimization (free backlinks).
